Follow the below steps: 1. Method 3: I would recommend you to uninstall and reinstall Far cry 3 game in compatibility mode. I was just about to give up when I, at last, just tried this I moved the games from my external HD to my laptop's internal C drive. That fixed the issue for all 3 games without having to change a thing within the game files note: none of my other Steam games had this issue.

There was a hotfix driver from Nvidia back then, pretty sure the game is just too old and abandoned. But you might wanna allow the game to use more ram, the same way you do with Fallout: New Vegas, for example.
